Examinations & Diploma

Requirement for candidature: obtaining an average overall grade of at least 10/20 for all the hospital training sessions for the year. The board of examiners is appointed by the regional prefect after recommendation by the Medical Inspector for Regional Health. The written and practical tests represent 75% of the final grade. Continuous assessments represent 25% of the final grade.

END OF YEAR EXAM FOR 1st YEAR (2 sessions)

Five written tests:

  • Foot diseases

  • Anatomy - Biomechanics

  • Biology - human physiology

  • Technology

  • Rest of the program

Three practice tests:

  • Conception and development of plantar orthesis

  • Chiropodial care

  • Toe prosthesis (orthonyxia - toe orthosis)

END OF YEAR EXAM FOR 2nd YEAR (2 sessions)

Three written tests:

  • Anatomy - Biomechanics

  • Pathology – Technology

  • Rest of the program

Three practice tests:

  • Clinical examination

  • Chiropodial care, toe orthosis, orthonyxia

  • Conception and development of plantar orthesis

 

STATE DIPLOMA (2 sessions)

Requirement for candidature: obtaining an average overall grade of at least 10/20 for the continuous assessments and all the hospital training sessions for the year.

This examination includes three tests where students are placed in a professional situation.

  • Clinical examination followed by designing and making the prosthesis (marked out of 20)

  • Oral examination (marked out of 20)

  • Chiropodial care, toe orthosis, orthonyxia (marked out of 20)

Candidates with a total of at least 40 points without an eliminatory grade (less than 7/20) are accepted.

Candidates who fail the 2 sessions for the State Diploma may either repeat or present as independent candidates the following year.

Candidates can present at a maximum of 6 sessions for the State Diploma, or for 3 years.
